I've seen people championing this game for years, and while the buzz was clearly loud enough for me to add Ghost Trick to the pile - I really should have gotten to it FAR sooner. None of the puzzles were particularly taxing imo, but it's a very satisfying loop and it's fun just working your way to the solution. So in any given 'level', you are rube goldberging your way around, and generally trying to use your 'ghost tricks' in ways that will prevent someone's death. You can turn a flashlight on, open an umbrella - that kind of thing. The premise is that you are a ghost who is able to slightly influence objects. So what is the gameplay? Put simply, it's a very accessible puzzle game. Everything just fits together really well. It's also one of the most elegant marriages of gameplay and story that I've ever seen. I was invested in the mystery the entire time, and despite the light-hearted tone and out-there premise, it never felt toothless.

The dialogue is well-written, and all of the twists and character decisions felt earned.

Most importantly for a game with such a big focus on story - Ghost Trick's writing is excellent, and I don't say that lightly. The soundtrack is also great, and suits the game perfectly. Apparently they made 3D models for all of the characters before converting them to sprites, allowing for some really slick animations that still feel cohesive with the 2D backgrounds. As you can see above - Ghost Trick still looks fantastic to this day, with a really unique and stylish artstyle.
